COME BE OUR GUEST IN THE BEAUTIFUL BITTERROOT VALLEY!
The Screened Room
The Screened Room is the place where many of our guests enjoy some light refreshments upon arrival. It is a magical space at any time of the day, but especially in the early evenings. On a warm summer's morning breakfast is often served here, as well. So, enjoy reading a book, or some scintillating conversation over a bottle of wine, before heading out for dinner. There's a small clearing where you can play a game of croquet with the seasonal creek just beyond.
Wooded Paths await you
The Grounds consist of 10 acres, and nearly 6 acres are mowed with pathways leading one to another with 9 little clearings. Lovely at any season, a morning or evening constitutional will add enjoyment to your visit. The Grounds may, also, be accessed from every room, which all have their own outside doors. It can take about 20-30 minutes to walk the entire property. There is a Pond, a seasonal creek and 40' of Bear Creek Frontage, accessible as you cross over the Bridge at the little pond. The woods are a mixed forest of Pines, Cottonwoods and Aspens. There are Owls, Woodpeckers...(even Pileated Woodpeckers show up!), Robins, Jays, just to name a few species. Turkeys, Quail, and the odd Pheasant frequent the property. The Deer make a circuit of the neighborhood and bed down in the wonderful habitat that can be found, here. For a longer walk, you can head West on Pistol Lane, 3/4 of a mile to the end. This is a Private Road and therefore, not much traffic. Heading East 1/4 mile back towards Hwy. 93 you can walk along the paved hiking and biking pathway that runs from Hamilton to Lolo. The section from Lolo to Missoula is due to be completed in 2016. Many bicyclists are enjoying this ride as well.
