SPRINGTIME IN THE ROCKIES

Glorious sunshine greeted the day. After 2 days of heavy, heavy rain, it was so nice to awaken to the sun~ As soon as the flowers shake off the excess rain they will perk up. Luckily most had yet to open. Any day now, the Roses will be in full bloom and I suspect the Peonies will not be far behind. Here’s a PIC of wonderful blossoms ‘past’.

GIVING THANKS

Such a glorious Fall, this year. Stunning colors of orange, yellow, bronze, rust and gold against the blue, blue skies. For which we truly gave Thanks. Now, the season has definitely changed to winter. We had a big storm which left snows down into the Valley floor. With the full Moon highlighting the Bitterroot Mountains it looks as if you could reach out and touch them.. So amazing how the snow capped peaks just jump up out of the Valley floor at this time of year.

Although we are just entering the Winter season, Spring will be here before you know it. Book your 2016 trip now and experience for yourself the wonders of time in Montana~

BIRDS, BIRDS, BIRDS

The migrations are in full force. This morning I saw a pair of geese in front of the Cabin.. I could hear several flying overhead. Why they landed in my pasture I have no idea. I’ve been hearing them fly over for several days. Generally on their way to the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge, I’ll bet. 2 days ago there was an Eagle who soared overhead. I’ve seen Hawks and have resident Owls, but I’ve never seen an Eagle above me. So exciting. I am so happy to say my ‘habitat’ protections must be working! Spring is definitely here. Turkeys, Quail, Robins, Meadowlark, Pileated and Lewis’s Woodpeckers have all come to call. You ought to see them, too~
